Workshop Performing & Digital Arts: BliTzLaB 1

Workshop Intensive practical [BliTzLaB] Performative Arts & Digital Art aimed to the preparation of an interdisciplinary live performance.

E 'aimed at those who, for any level using computers for creative purposes in one or more of the following areas in the development / creation of: sound, music, audiovisual, video, image, graphics, text, creative programming, web art, architecture (CAD/3D modeling) and . .. interaction design.

The aim is to develop strategies and performative interaction by creating a complex architecture that integrates the various contributions of participants in the workshop.

The end result will be the installation of a live performance where the work developed during the workshop will be the backbone for the performance of artists working in the field of traditional performing arts (dancers, actors, sculptors, lighting designers, painters and performers).

The workshop is led by Dominic Sciajno ( www.sciajno.net ) musician and composer active in the field of mixed media that has developed a method for coordinating the various disciplines involved. There are 4 meetings (2 per month) plus the final performance.

Membership:
Seats are limited and selection is made on the basis of an audition / interview to be held on 6/12/2010.

Who is it for the workshop
E' rivolto a tutti coloro che a qualunque livello utilizzano il computer per fini creativi in una o più delle seguenti aree nella elaborazione/creazione di: suono, musica, audiovideo, video, immagine, grafica, testo, programmazione creativa, web art, architettura(CAD/3D modeling) e interaction design.

Audizione/Colloquio
Il metodo adottato è disegnato per un minimo di 6 ed un massimo di 10 partecipanti.
La selezione viene fatta in base ad una audizione/colloquio per assicurare:
. motivazione
. un livello omogeneo nella capacità di utilizzo del computer nella propria area/disciplina
. eterogeneità tra le discipline all'interno del gruppo di lavoro.
L'audizione/colloquio is free, with no payment of registration fee.

Hearing Date and Place / interview
The hearings will be held December 6, 2010 between 16.00 and 21.00 at the Piazzetta in Palab Fondaco in Palermo. Send email to

Mode conduct hearing / interview:
During the interview, the applicant will, through your laptop, your work.
Specify whether you will need speakers or projector and Internet connection.
There will be a short interview skills and motivation to understand and that will end with a 'question time' during which l'interessato porrà le sue domande.

Durata del Workshop:
Il workshop si articolerà in 5 incontri su tre mesi per un totale di almeno 20 ore.
I primi quattro incontri (il BliTzLab vero e proprio) della durata di tre ore ciascuno, avverranno ogni 15 giorni e occuperanno due mesi consecutivi.
Il quinto incontro sarà il giorno della performance finale e avverrà nel terzo mese. Tra allestimento, prova generale e performance durerà almeno 8 ore.

La città di questo primo laboratorio è Palermo; il luogo è Palab in Piazzetta del Fondaco a Palermo.

BliTzLaB will be in January and February 2011. The 4 dates and the respective schedules are defined considering several factors and among them will take into account the needs of participants.
The third month, that of the final performance, could be in March 2011 but could be set only during the course of BliTzLaB. Among the factors to be considered for the definition of that date, there is the choice and availability of the artist host. Technical equipment required


Participants must have their own laptop with the necessary softwares to do their work (creating their own 'media') in the area / discipline of your choice.
